Day 2: AI Practitioner Workshops

Leading AI Practitioners will take to the stage to conduct exclusive Masterclasses that range from data management, model building and even digital trust in the brave new AI world.

Adapting AI to Benefit Southeast Asia: Regional Approaches
After the launch of AI Singapore’s SEA-LION in December last year, several Southeast Asia language models have emerged in this burgeoning space. This session brings together the open-source Southeast Asia LLM projects for a collaborative discussion on unlocking the benefits of LLMs uniquely tailored to Southeast Asia’s diverse cultural context.

Workshop 1
From Machine Learning to Trustable AI

Many have realised that our current state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence still make mistakes, and these mistakes are not something that getting more quality data can help. Why is that so?

Using an example and demo, Koo will be sharing why that is the case, leading to the need for AI governance and more importantly the need to build Trustable AI, machines that can be trusted to perform per expectations. Koo will be sharing how business organisations can reach the “Trustable AI” stage of being able to leverage AI to continuously serve customers better.

Workshop 3
Leveraging LLMs for Conversational Question-Answering

Customer inquiries about products often require cross-referencing information from multiple documents, making it difficult to provide timely and accurate responses. This challenge underscores the need for innovative solutions that can effectively integrate data from diverse, domain-specific sources to deliver coherent answers.

Conversational question-answering (QA) applications, enhanced by recent advances in generative AI, are uniquely positioned to address these challenges by significantly improving response times and accuracy. Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) combines information retrieval and text generation techniques to create more relevant and context-aware answers. However, basic RAG approaches still face limitations in handling complex scenarios, such as multi-turn conversations or answering questions that span multiple documents.

To overcome these limitations, we have developed an innovative solution that extends the capabilities of RAG by incorporating concepts of Large Language Model (LLM) agents. The resulting solution is designed to operate semi-autonomously, orchestrating responses to complex queries without requiring fine-tuning. This approach not only streamlines operations but also delivers precise and contextually relevant answers, driving better decision-making and enhancing user experience across industries.
